How to Perform a Product Tag Clean-up

This article covers the steps to clean up product tags, including correcting typos, renaming categories, types, and materials, and performing bulk updates. In this example, we’ll consolidate all tags related to “Test Ring” into one category.

Procedure

1. Access the Product List Module

• Open the left Navigation Menu.

• Click the Inventory menu to expand options.

• Select the Product List from the dropdown
  
  
  
  

2. Start Cleanup Process

• Click the round Action Button on the left side of the screen.

• Choose Manage Product Categories from the options.
  
   
  
  

3. Choose Tag Type

• In the Product Tag Cleanup dialog, tag types such as Type, Category, Material, and Designer will display.
  
  For this example, we’ll clean up Type tags.
  
  
  

4. Identify Duplicates & Convert Tags

• In the Similar Items column, locate any tags with typographical errors.
  
  

• In the Tag Value column, find duplicate values under “Test Ring.”
  
   

• Click on the tag to change, revealing dropdown options.

• Select “Change All Test Ring 1 tags to Test Ring.”
  
  

5. Finalize Cleanup

• After making adjustments, click Okay to apply changes.

• A dialog box will confirm with “Product Types updated successfully.”
  
   
  
  
  

Bulk Update of Product Tag Types

Select Items

1. Check the Boxes next to products you want to update.

   • To select all items on the page, use the checkbox at the top of the product list.
     
     

2. Click the Action Button again and choose the Edit option.
   
    
   
   
   

Add Types

1. In the Bulk Edit dialog, select the Add Types action.
   
   

2. In the second field, specify the new type (e.g., “Test Ring 2”) to add to all selected items. 
   
   

3. When complete, click Okay to apply updates.

Additional Notes:

• You can specify the desired tag name under type, category, or material.

• (add internal tags are for inside use only) add 

• Selecting multiple products allows you to easily add or remove tags—such as types, categories, and materials—across all chosen items.
