Step 1: Configure IFS Insurance Integration
- Go to Admin > Apps.
- Locate the IFS (Inforsure) integration tile, select the three-dotted button, and click Configure.
- Enter the following details:
- IFS Account ID: Provided by IFS.
- IFS API User Name: Your IFS API username.
- IFS API Password: Your IFS API password.
- Click OK to save the configuration.
Once configured, the system will automatically connect to IFS Insurance for shipment coverage options.
Step 2: How IFS Interacts with the Shipping Screen
When you create a shipment, the system will interact with IFS (Inforsure) in the following ways:
Address Validation
- Upon shipment creation, the system will automatically validate and correct the shipping address.
- If there’s a mismatch, a window will appear showing:
- Entered Address (what you input)
- Corrected Address (suggested correction)
- You can choose to:
- Use the Entered Address
- Use the Corrected Address
This ensures addresses are accurate and delivery issues are minimized.
Note: The address validation and correction process is a general improvement in the system and not specifically tied to IFS.
Insurance Selection
At the end of the shipment creation process, you can select an Insurance Provider from a dropdown menu.
- IFS (Inforsure) will be one of the available options.
- Other providers (like Carrier Insurance, Self/Umbrella Insurance, Shipinsurance, ParcelGuard, etc.) can also appear in this dropdown.
Step 3: Customizing the Insurance Provider Dropdown
You can customize which insurance options appear during shipment creation by configuring the Shipping Insurance Providers list.
- Go to Admin > Account > Shipping.
- Find the Shipping Insurance Providers field.
- Enter a comma-separated list of providers you want to display:
- Example:
ifs,carrier,umbrella,shipinsurance,parcelguard,none
- Example:
Important: The order in which you write the providers in this field is the same order they will appear in the dropdown menu during shipment creation.
This controls the options available in the Insurance dropdown on the shipment screen.
