You can now directly consume parts sourced from a Purchase Order (PO) when creating a Service Job.
This feature simplifies handling out-of-stock parts by automatically creating and/or linking the PO to the job and consuming the part once it is received.
Follow the steps below to use this new functionality:
Step 1: Open or Create a Service Job
Navigate to the Service Jobs module
Select either an existing job or create a new one. For this article we will be selecting a service job that we've created
Step 2: Add a Task Line
Select the Service Job and head over to the Tasks tab.
Add the necessary part for the Job
Select Source From PO as the part consumption option
Click OK, A window dialog will immediately pop up giving you the option to either pick an unmapped PO line or Create a new Purchase Order. For this article, we'll be creating a new Purchase Order for the Job. Please note that you can create a PO for more items than you need for the job.
Proceed with the process of creating a purchase order as usual. After creating the Purchase Order, it should immediately show up as an unmapped Purchase Order Line.
Select the line and click OK. This will automatically consume the part from the Purchase Order as soon as it is saved.
Note: If you have multiple PO lines they will be combined for each associated product vendor.
Step 3: Receiving the Purchase Order
Receive the newly created PO. Once this has been received, it would automatically be consumed into the Job.
Once it has been received, the status of the PO in the job would then update
Additional Notes
The part will not need to be manually linked after receiving — the system handles it automatically.
This feature is ideal for managing out-of-stock parts when building service jobs.
Streamlines purchasing and fulfillment workflows by reducing manual steps.
