In this article we will demonstrate how to set up a partner relationship between customers and how this impacts the House Account and Customer Credit balances, all within the Customers module. A particularly useful feature when customers wish to create a joint account, like in the context of marriage.
The methodology includes linking the partner account (Jake's, in this instance) to the main account (Jane's), where Jane retains primary account status. After submitting a sale via Jake's account, both their House Account balances become synchronised. Notably, all charges appear in the primary account, and sales transacted via Jake's account won't show in Jane's Sales tab but can be found in Jake's profile. The same principle applies to Customer Credit charges. If the accounts are unlinked later, the charges remain. If you need to move charges after unlinking accounts, please raise a support ticket.
