How to Disable or Set a Fixed Reboot Time on Devices

Modified on Fri, 12 Dec at 1:43 PM

Devices may be configured with a scheduled reboot by default. While this can help with system stability, it may cause interruptions if the reboot occurs during business hours.

Important: If the scheduled reboot is left enabled during business hours, the device may restart unexpectedly and interrupt active transactions. It is strongly recommended to either disable the scheduled reboot or set it to an off-hours time such as 2:00 AM.

Steps to Disable or Set a Scheduled Reboot:

1. Open Device Settings

From the device home screen, open Settings.

2. Navigate to the Scheduled Reboot Option

In the Settings menu, go to:

  • Security

  • Scheduled Time Reboot

Note: On some devices, this setting may not appear under Battery or Power settings and is instead located under Security.

3. Enter the Security Password

If the device requests a password to access this setting, use one of the following:

  • 9876

  • pax9876@@

4. Set a Fixed Reboot Time

If a scheduled reboot is required:

  • Enable Scheduled Time Reboot

  • Set the reboot time to 2:00 AM

This ensures the device restarts during off-hours and remains active throughout the day.

5. Disable the Scheduled Reboot (Optional)

If you do not want the device to reboot automatically:

  • Toggle Scheduled Time Reboot off

  • Confirm the change if prompted

Once disabled, the device will only reboot when restarted manually.

If you’re managing multiple devices, repeat these steps on each unit to ensure consistent reboot behavior across your setup.
