How to Segment Customer Lists Using Filters in the Customer Module

Modified on Tue, 28 Oct at 2:29 PM

You can segment or filter your customer list in Flawless POS based on any available field in the Customer Module Grid, such as state, city, sales person, email , or any other displayed column. This makes it easy to create targeted lists for marketing, follow-ups, or reporting.

Steps to Segment Your Customer List:

  1. Open the Customer Module
From the main dashboard, navigate to Customers and select All Customers.

  2. Show the Columns You Need

    • Click the eye icon (View/Columns icon) in the top-right corner of the grid.

    • A Configure Columns pop-up will appear.

    • Search for and check the box beside the fields you want to use for filtering (for example: State, City, Salesperson, or Email).

    • Click OK to apply your changes.

    • The selected columns will now be visible in your grid.

  3. Filter the Customer List

    • Each visible column has a small Filter box beneath its header.

    • Type or select the value you want to filter by (e.g., type “CO” under State or “Claire” under Salesperson).

    • The grid will update automatically to show only the matching customers.

  4. Export the Filtered List

    • Click the cloud/download icon at the top-right corner of the grid.
    • A dropdown menu will appear.
    • Select Export Visible Columns to export only the columns currently shown in the grid, or Export All Columns to include all available customer data in your export file.
    • The system will generate a downloadable Excel or CSV file with your filtered results.

Use Cases:

  • By Location: Export a list of customers in a specific state or city for localized promotions.

  • By Salesperson: Track customer activity per sales rep.

  • By Purchase Activity: Filter and export customers with recent or high-value purchases.

  • By Email Domain: Separate retail vs. wholesale accounts for different campaigns.
