How can I properly cancel a repair job to ensure it’s fully closed?

Understand the Cancellation Process:

  • When cancelling a repair from the Point of Sale (POS) screen, the system removes the repair from the sale but does not automatically close the related Service Job.

  • If the job isn’t cancelled in the Service Job module, it will still appear as active in the backend and remain tied to the client record.

Steps to Fully Cancel a Repair:

  1. Cancel the Job in the Service Job Module:

    • Go to the Service Job module.

    • Locate the job you want to cancel using the job number or client name.

    • Click on the job and select Cancel to close it.

    • Confirm that its status changes to Cancelled.

  2. Remove or Update in the POS Screen:

    • After cancelling the job in Service Job, go to the POS screen.

    • Remove the associated repair from the ticket or mark it as cancelled.

    • This ensures that the POS and backend are synced.

  3. Verify in the Pickup Module:

    • Navigate to the Pickup module.

    • Confirm that the cancelled repair is no longer listed under the client’s active items.

    • If it still appears, manually cancel or pick it up from the POS screen to fully clear it.

Best Practice:
Always cancel the repair in both the Service Job and POS modules to ensure the job is fully removed from the client’s active list and no longer appears under pending repairs or pickups.
