How to Create a Special Order for an Out of Stock Item

In this guide we will discuss the process of creating a special order for an out of stock item using the Point of Sale module, an important feature that ensures sales continuity even when items are temporarily unavailable. 

Briefly, the video instructs how to adjust the Point of Sale module settings to search for all related items, not just those in stock, by unchecking the 'In Stock Only' checkbox. An out-of-stock item can be selected and added to the cart, automatically processing it as a Special Order. Interestingly, even in-stock items can be manually set to process as a Special Order, ensuring sales continuity when waiting for new supplies. Once the item is in the cart, the sale is processed as usual. With the sale submitted, clicking 'View Sale' will indicate that it is a Special Order. This order will then be ready for customer pickup or shipment once restocked.
