Why does the Total for the Day (Excl. Pickups) not match the End of Day report?

Modified on Wed, 15 Oct at 3:51 PM

You may notice that the Total for the Day (Excl. Pickups) figure displayed in sales notification emails doesn’t match the total shown in your Store End of Day report. This difference is intentional and occurs because both values are calculated differently.

Total for the Day (Excl. Pickups)

  • This figure represents the gross value of all sales processed throughout the day.

  • It includes:

    • Fully paid sales

    • Partially paid transactions

    • Deposits or payment plans

  • The total updates in real-time as new sales occur.

  • If a transaction is voided or adjusted later in the day, this total will also update accordingly.

Store End of Day Report

  • This report only includes payments that have actually been received that day.

  • It excludes:

    • Pending payments

    • Partial payments

    • Future-dated or layaway transactions

  • The figure in this report reflects the finalized amount received for accounting purposes.

Example:
If a customer makes a $2,000 sale but only pays a $500 deposit,

  • The Total for the Day (Excl. Pickups) will show $2,000.

  • The Store End of Day report will record only $500 until the remaining amount is collected.
